We are travelling with children aged 6mths-4years old from January 19-26 and were wondering if you leave the park can you come back to the park in the same day (i.e. take kids home for nap and come back for fireworks in evening.) We have 5day base tickets

What a great question, Sophie!  The Walt Disney World Resort does allow guests with Magic Your Way base tickets to re-enter any one of their theme parks as often as a guest needs to on the same day.  You may not switch to another theme park that day unless you have the park-hopper option on your ticket, but you may definitely head back into the same park you were in earlier that day.

As someone who has traveled with toddlers and pre-schoolers I highly recommend arriving at the park when it opens, leaving for a mid-afternoon break, and then returning to enjoy the park further after everyone is rejuvenated.  My guess is that you'll have a much more pleasant evening if your family members take a break and then return to the park.

Sounds like you are putting together a magical plan for your vacation!

    Have fun!
