Ahoy, Fiona!
What an amazing Land and Sea vacation you have planned. First, a visit to Disneyland Resort in California, then off to sail the high seas on a Disney Cruise Line vacation with Captain Mickey and his crew. It sounds perfect!
I'm excited to hear your sailing will be a special
Halloween on the High Seas cruise - with spooky fun from beginning to end. Not only will you get to enjoy frightfully fun special events like Mickey's Mouse-querade Party, costume contests (for guests of all ages), and pumpkin carving, but you'll also have an evening dedicated to celebrating Pirate Night as well.
On
Pirate Night, you'll enjoy the Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party, a special pirate-themed menu at dinner (if they offer the Chilled Mango Soup, try it - it's yummy!), and your favorite Disney Characters will be decked out in their pirate best for meet and greets. Make sure to get in line early to meet Captain Jack Sparrow - he's a hoot! No need to worry if you don't have a treasure chest full of puffy pirate shirts and eye patches - the onboard shops carry lots of pirate gear if you need it. You'll see guests decked out in full pirate costumes, and the Cast Members get in on the fun as well. It's quite the swashbuckling celebration!
The average temperatures in the ports you'll be visiting are in the mid-80s in October. As long as it's sunny out, I think the water would be warm enough for swimming, and enjoying the pool deck on the ship.
What a magical adventure you have to look forward to! Please let us know if you have more questions as your trip gets closer - we're happy to help.
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
