I am travelling from Australia for our 1st Disney holiday with a 3.5 year old. We plan to spend 7 days in total, at 2 of the resorts. How easy is it to travel with luggage from one resort to the next reosrt of our choice? Are there any transfers?

We like to “resort hop” or stay at more than 1 resort per visit. Sometimes it is out of necessity when we want to splurge on the Grand Floridian for a few nights but not for the entire stay.

    Transferring luggage is very easy.

Typically we will check out of Resort A in the morning prior to leaving for a theme park. (Sometimes we have our own vehicle, so we will have Bell Services load the bags in to our van.)

Keep a day bag full of items that you will need  (medicine, swim suit, etc) prior to checking in to Resort B. Call Bell Services to retrieve your luggage and tell them to transfer it to Resort B. They will tag your luggage accordingly.

We then go to the park for a fun day, taking a late afternoon break to check in to Resort B. Sometimes after checking in to Resort B, we will just enjoy the evening there.

An alternative plan which we’ve done is to take an earlier break around lunch time and go to Resort B to check in. Often our room is ready early. If not, we go to the pool to relax and by the time we are ready to get changed, we are usually able to get the room key.

No matter how you plan your resort hopping day, your luggage will be taken care of. Once you are in your room at your second resort, simply call Bell Services and they will bring your luggage to you. Expect your luggage around 4 p.m.

It takes being prepared, a little planning and some creativity but transferring resorts can be a lot of fun.
