Hello, David!
Thank you for contacting planDisney. Celebrating the
Holidays at
Disneyland Resort really feels like a dream come true! The festive decorations, seasonal treats, and holiday overlays on some attractions, like Haunted Mansion Holiday, make it my absolute favorite time of year to visit the theme parks.
Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, and since
Table Service Restaurants are so popular at Disneyland, most reservations get booked pretty quickly, especially during the holidays. I understand how disappointing that can be! I recommend checking for availability multiple times a day, though, as Guests sometimes cancel their reservations as their trip gets closer. A local travel agent may also be able to help you monitor dining availability before your vacation. Additionally, some restaurants have walk-up lists, so you can try joining one when you are near a restaurant. I do expect walk-up lists to be limited on Christmas, but it’s always worth checking!
If you are unable to get dining reservations, I recommend mobile ordering your meals in the morning for the entire day. Disneyland can be busy on Christmas, and pick-up times for food often fill up early. If that happens, you can still wait in line to place your order, but I personally try to avoid waiting in lines as much as I can! Mobile ordering is available through the Disneyland app, which can be downloaded after arriving in the United States. My favorite Quick Service Restaurants that usually accept mobile orders include Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, Flo's V8 Cafe, and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta.
David, I'm sorry I do not have better news for you. I’m hoping you will be able to snag a dining reservation for Christmas! Fingers crossed!
Happy holidays!
Jen
