I am travelling in August with two children (4&6) and I am wondering what are the best places to take them to eat on the DDDP? I am worried about making reservations at places that aren't kid friendly and don't want to feel uncomfortable

    Hi Bridget!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip!  I'm taking a 4 & 6 year old in August too, and can't wait!  The Deluxe Disney Dining Plan is a fabulous, carefree way to experience some of Disney's most wonderful restaurants, character meals and dinner shows.  You should feel absolutely comfortable taking your children to any of the restaurants that interest your family at the parks and resorts.  With the exception of Victoria & Alberts (which would not interest small children anyway), your kids will feel welcome everywhere.  We've taken our kids to many of the signature dining establishments (including California Grille, Jiko and Artist Point) a number of times, and had wonderful meals.  My four year old swears the "mac and cheese" at Jiko is heaven, and my older one loves the dessert at Yachtsman Steakhouse.  There are children's menus at each of the restaurants that suit my picky eaters just fine!

In addition, there are a host of other kid favorites that I'd recommend, including any of the character meals (Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Play n' Dine are among our favorites), Sci Fi Dine-in Theater (where you dine in a 1950s-style convertible while watching movies), and Coral Reef at Epcot (where your kids can stare at giant floor to ceiling tanks filled with sea life while they eat).  Finally, with so many meal credits, I'd also recommend one of the dinner shows to "round out" your Disney Dining Experience.  My children have seen all of them and agree any is a great way to end a perfect Disney day!

    Have a wonderful trip!
