Hiya, Sarah!
Welcome back to planDisney! Sarah, you can't go wrong with any of the
Disney Vacation Club Resorts. Each Resort transports you to dazzling places you never knew. Deciding which Resort to stay in and which floor to choose is very much a personal decision. However, let me give you a bit of information about each Resort, and this may assist you with selecting.
Disney's Beach Club Resort is a very popular location for a few reasons. This Resort transports you to a New England style Resort (and as a New Englander myself, I am a bit biased on the theming, which I love as it feels like a Resort you might find on Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.) It has one of the best pools at all of the Disney Resorts -
Stormalong Bay with a pirate ship waterslide. You are in walking distance to both EPCOT's World Showcase entrance and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Friendship Boats can also take you to these parks, and complimentary Resort busses can take you to all of the Disney theme parks, Disney Springs, and the Disney Water Parks. You also have access to Disney's BoardWalk, including the entertainment and dining options. If you want to be on a higher floor with a theme park view (if available), you may be able to see EPCOT's fireworks from your room. It's not a guarantee, but it is always possible. I personally enjoy looking at Crescent Lake from my room.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge Boulder Ridge is my Home Resort, so I really love this location. I feel transported to the lodges of Yellowstone National Park, and I love the cozy woodland atmosphere of this Resort. It is a little quieter, which is another reason I like it. You can take a Friendship Boat to Magic Kingdom Park or Fort Wilderness from this location, or you can take the complimentary Bus transportation to all other locations. As a fan of the American West, I love the dining at this Resort, which includes Whispering Canyon - a rootin' tootin' good time. The skillet breakfasts are delicious, but be warned - there is nothing quiet about this restaurant, especially if you ask for ketchup! There is also Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, Geyser Point Bar and Grill, and the quick service location, Roaring Fork. At this Resort, the only level I don't like is the ground floor level, because you can sometimes hear Guests coming and going past your room.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is spectacular and glamorous. As one of the original Walt Disney World Resorts, it holds a special place in my heart. You have the option of multiple dining locations, including table service and quick service, and you are just a Monorail ride away from additional dining at Disney's Polynesian and Contemporary Resorts. Speaking of the Monorail, you can also ride to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT from this Resort. A Friendship Boat can sail you away to Magic Kingdom Park, and the complimentary Resort buses can also get you to all Disney Resort theme parks, Disney Springs, and Disney's Water Parks. You may be able to see Magic Kingdom fireworks from a higher-level room, if it faces toward the castle. If your room faces the lake, you may also be able to see the evening
Electrical Water Pageant, which is a nod to classic Walt Disney World. Again, I would avoid a ground-floor room if you don't like hearing people go by, but that is personal preference.
I hope this helps you, Sarah! Soar back here with more questions and I will be so happy ot help you.
Magically Yours,
Keri
