Hi, we are travelling with 3 adults and 4 kids in May. One of the adults is a Senior with some mobility issues. We are staying at the Contemporary Bay View Tower. Is there a lot of walking to get to the monorail from the tower?

    Hi Kathryn,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I think you will find that you really enjoy Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. I love the sleek and modern feel at this resort, and it is amazing to be so close to the Magic Kingdom.

The monorail is located in the Contemporary Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Skyway Bridge connects Bay Lake Tower and the Contemporary Tower. The Skyway Bridge is located right off of the south elevator lobby on the fifth floor of Bay Lake Tower. The bridge connects to the fourth floor of the Contemporary Tower. Monorail station access is from the fourth floor of the Contemporary Tower, though you do need to use an escalator or elevator to go up to access the monorail. From the fifth floor south elevator lobby of Bay Lake Tower, accessing the monorail takes about five minutes for someone without mobility issues. If you are concerned about the length of this walk, I suggest that you request a villa either on the fifth floor of Bay Lake Tower, or near the south elevators, or ideally, both. This will put you the closest to the monorail. Please do note that while Disney will do their best to honor all requests, they cannot be guaranteed.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Kathryn. Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
