Travelling with 3 adults & 3 children @ Christmas time...would you recommend family suite @ Music resort or the cabins @ wilderness lodge? I am concerned about travel time to MK, which is less of a hassle/less time?

    Hi Michelle!

If you are worried about transportation then I would definitely go with the family suite at Disney's All Star Resort over a cabin at Fort Wilderness.  Fort Wilderness is a wonderful resort and the cabins are nice, but Fort Wilderness is so large that there is an internal bus system.  So coming back from a theme park, you would take a bus to Fort Wilderness and then have to transfer to an internal bus.  Needless to say, that can take a long time.  Also, Fort Wilderness routinely shares a bus with the Wilderness Lodge prolonging the trip.

That said, however, if you are going to be spending all of your time at the Magic Kingdom and very little time in the other parks, then you might consider staying in the cabins.  That's because to get to the Magic Kingdom from Fort Wilderness, you would take the internal bus to the boat dock and then catch a boat to the Magic Kingdom.  That is such a wonderful and relaxing trip, especially at night, that it might outweigh the longer amount of time it takes compared to a bus from the All Stars.

    Good luck with your decision!
