Hiya Teri,
Welcome to planDisney! Nothing is more magical than bringing little Mouseketeers to Walt Disney World Resort. Hats off to you, momma! I visited when my little one was only four months old, and it was magical but required a lot more coordination than I expected. Make sure to take advantage of the
Baby Care Center for an air-conditioned spot to feed and change your infant. Also, pack a baby carrier with you for waiting in queues and riding infant-friendly rides. It was a lifesaver for me!
Great question about strollers, Teri! My little one wasn’t big enough for a traditional stroller when I visited either, so I have some experience with this question. First, you can bring a stroller with a car seat adapter on your vacation if it adheres to
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules. For your reference, strollers can not exceed 31” in width and 52” in length. If your stroller fits those dimensions, you can bring it into the Theme Parks.
Regarding the
Walt Disney World Resort bus transportation, you will be asked to collapse your stroller and remove the infant car seat adapter before getting on the bus. Now as to whether or not your child can remain in their car seat once on the bus, it is not recommended. There are no seat belts on the bus, so it would not be advisable. When I visited, we would put my daughter in our carrier before the bus arrived and then collapse the stroller when it came. Then once we arrived at our destination, we would put her in the stroller.
Teri, I know you didn’t ask, but I have to share my favorite way to travel with a little one. The
Minnie Van Service is, in my opinion, the ideal way to travel with Mouseketeers who are car seat age. Each Minnie Van comes with the option to install two car seats that can be used by little ones who are rear and forward facing. Best of all, the Cast Members who drive the vehicles are trained to install the car seats for you, which takes the stress out of the experience. They also play Disney cartoons and play Disney music which will be a magical thing for your five-year-old. It is not complimentary like the Disney bus, but it was very much worth the price for my family.
Please come back and see us if you need anything else, Terri.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
