We will be traveling w/ a 4yr old and 7 month old in march. Any suggestions on how to organize our room/store essentials(diapers, formula, snacks, etc.) to make everyday run smoothly? We are staying at the WL with a refrig in room & are bringing a co

    Hi Renee,

In the past I feel like we walked into our room, opened our suitcases & in a matter of minutes, the room looked like we'd been there for weeks. I was ashamed for Mousekeeping to come in. I've now tried to get somewhat of grip on that.

I think a lot of Guests live out of their suitcases, especially if they are there for a short trip. But I've found that the dresser drawers & closets are actually quite useful. Designate a drawer to be your snack, food & formula drawer. Use another one for diapers, wipes & other baby supplies. That way, you'll know where everything is when you are packing your diaperbag to head out to the parks.

I also purchased a couple of the over the door shoe organizers - they have lots of spaces & easily fit into a suitcase. I use 2 - one in the bathroom to organize hairbrushes, make-up, etc. The other for odds & ends in the room reserving the lower ones for toys for my boys.

I also bring a small plastic shoebox, sponge & small bottle of dish detergent to wash sippy cups, etc. I know there are sinks in the rooms but I guess I have my little quirks. The shoebox I pack in the bottom of my cooler or suitcase & put other things in it so it takes up very little room.

At Target they have collapsible bins that are supposed to go in shelves to use as drawers. I bring a couple of those since they collapse & don't take up any room in my suit case.

I often drive to Disney so we take a larger plastic tub to pack odds & in. Its nice to grab one tub versus a bunch of little bags. It easily slides into the closet & I put our suitcases on top.

I use "s-hooks" that go on strollers to hang my purse, backpacks, etc. in the closet & keep them off the floors or tables.

Hope this gives you some ideas. Being organized saves time & makes for a smoother trip. Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
