Ahoy, Holly!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you're preparing for an upcoming high-seas adventure with Captain Mickey and his friends. Your little sea guppies will love all the activities onboard for kids! My son loves seeing his favorite
Disney Characters on and around the ship. He also loves splashing in the water play areas geared just for the littlest cruisers!
Thank you for stopping by with such a great question; it's so important to have the correct documentation in advance of setting sail. I'm not sure which of the exciting itineraries you're embarking on, but am happy to share that currently, children under the age of 16, who are U.S. citizens, sailing on a roundtrip Disney Cruise with their parents from a U.S. port, and returning to that same U.S. port, do not need a U.S. passport to set sail. Instead, they need an original (or copy) of their state-issued birth certificate as proof of citizenship. Prior to your upcoming cruise, please take a moment to look through the
Passports & Travel Documentation information to be sure that you have the proper documentation for your entire family for your particular voyage.
Even though passports are not required for all Disney Cruise Line adventures, I always recommend getting them for each member of your family. If there is an unexpected emergency while visiting one of the ports of call, you'll be able to easily fly back home to the U.S. if each person has a valid passport. My entire pirate crew brings ours and it always gives me peace of mind knowing we'd be able to get home in an emergency.
Holly, I'm wishing you a magical voyage! Please come back and visit us again with any other questions!
