We'll be traveling with a 4 year old so time is at a premium and there are so many choices!!! What is the benefit of using a FastPass+ at a Show or Attraction vs a Ride? Are we locked into a time to use the FP+ or just the day?

    Hi Cyndi!

Those are all great questions that you ask! FastPass is a terrific service that Disney offers! If for no other reason than the fact that it provides guests the opportunity to get on their favorite attractions...FASTER! :-)

So I completely understand maximizing your time when traveling with a young one. Whether it's needing a nap or eating, we parents find ourselves working on their time versus the other way around. I've been taking my kids to Disney since they were itty-bitty, and if they get tired or hungry, they let you know it very quickly!

So getting FastPass for a show gets you premium sitting. Take, for example, the incredible show Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios. FastPass gets you in quicker than the regular audience, and you get seating closer to the action, and at a better angle. Sometimes, if you are at the front of the FastPass line, that can be front row seating if you move quickly enough. In other instances, however, you're still going to get pretty decent sitting for the viewing.

In terms of timing, if it's for a show, they do suggest that you are in the FastPass line at a specific time before the show viewing. If it happens to be a show that occurs multiple times throughout the day, you'll be given a FastPass for a specific show time. I should note, the FastPass is not an open FastPass to where you can show up at any time of the day. Disney likely does this for crowd control. If, say, everyone chose to go to the last showing, it may be more guests than can be reasonably accommodated for the viewing.

Hope this helps you some. Have a magical day!
