traveling with a 2 year old in June. Advice for must see, things to avoid, what to be prepared for etc.? Thanks

    Hi Alicia,

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question. I have been vacationing at Walt Disney World since I was a honeymooner and subsequently have been bringing each of my children since they were infants. Vacationing with young children at Walt Disney World is not only Magical, it is very toddler friendly!

First, you should check out this link for Planning for Pre-School Kids & Little Ones. In the linked page you can find fantastic resources that include information about attractions geared especially for pre-schoolers, a downloadable guide for parents of pre-schoolers, and a fantastic video by a fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelist about the Baby Care Centers.

My personal tips for vacationing at Walt Disney World are to first make sure your child is comfortable. Either bring or rent a stroller that reclines for sleeping. I also like to pack plenty of sunscreen, familiar snacks, and a small fan that can clip onto the stroller. If your little one isn't potty trained, packing "overnight" diapers for daytime use can help avoid diaper rash.

At 2 years old, most likely your child's favorite attractions are going to be at Magic Kingdom. I would advise spending at least 2 days at Magic Kingdom. My pre-schoolers' favorite attractions here have been:

    • Peter Pan's Flight
    • Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
    • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
    • Enchanted Tales with Belle
    • Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid
    • It's a Small World
    • Jungle Cruise

As you continue with your Disney vacation planning be sure to visit us again with any further questions. We are always happy to help!

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
