Ahoy there, Milagros! Welcome to planDisney. It's great to have you sail our way with your question.
It won't be long till you start your cruise with Captain Minnie and Captain Mickey to the Bahamas, so I'm glad you are making sure you have the correct
Travel Documentation so you are shipshape and ready to sail. The travel documentation requirements vary depending on your citizenship and your cruise itinerary.
Please carefully review the
travel documentation requirements on the Disney Cruise Line website to identify what you will need to bring with you when you sail. While Disney Cruise Line does encourage all guests to obtain a passport for international travel, some itineraries do not require a passport. For example, U.S. citizens sailing from Florida on round-trip itineraries to and from the Caribbean and the Bahamas can use an original state-issued birth certificate and a physical government-issued photo ID as proof of citizenship. The photo ID is only required for guests ages 16 and older, so your 9-year-old will be okay with just the original state-issued birth certificate.
You will be asked to upload photos of these documents during the Online Check-In process. You can begin this process either on the Disney Cruise Line website or within the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. If you haven't already done so, you'll want to be sure that you have the app downloaded to use while on board the ship. The app will point your compass toward the delicious dining, engaging activities, and world-class entertainment you can enjoy on the ship.
If you have additional questions, please cruise back to us and ask! My pals and I will be here for you.
Happy Sailing!
