I am traveling with a 6 year old and disabled 70 year old. What rides will allow wheelchair/scooters to remain with them in line?

Hi there, Teresa! Thanks so much for making a return trip to planDisney. It's always the best day ever when I get to chat about all things Walt Disney World Resort with a fellow Michigander! Having navigated the parks with kids and grandparents simultaneously, I can tell you that you will make magical multigenerational memories--but some advance planning is always a great idea when you have someone in your party with mobility issues. Let's get right to it!

I have firsthand experience with this situation, Teresa. My older daughter sustained an injury shortly before a family trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth a couple of years ago and needed to use a wheelchair while in the parks. We were delighted to discover that she was able to experience most attractions easily, and the Cast Members were consistently helpful in directing us in ride queues and assisting with transportation.

For any Guest using a scooter or wheelchair, I recommend taking a look at the Attractions and Entertainment section of the Walt Disney World website. Here, you can filter all of the attractions based on the specific needs of the members of your party--including those that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchair or scooter, and those that require a transfer to a ride vehicle (which usually means the individual may have their mobility aid right up to the time of boarding).  You'll have a complete list of what will work for your group based on everyone's needs.

Teresa, the First Aid centers located in all four theme parks and at Disney Springs are a great resource in case anyone in your group needs assistance during your visit. We've visited these many times over the years for minor ailments, and the medical staff are so helpful and will get you back to having fun in no time!

The countdown is on until your magical vacation, and I'm sure you're getting excited! If you have any other questions as your check-in date approaches, please reach out to our planDisney squad at any time and we will be happy to help. Thanks again for stopping by!

    See Ya Real Soon!
