Ahoy, Hannah!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Your upcoming adventure to Cozumel sounds absolutely magical, and
Chankanaab National Park is a fantastic choice for a day of fun in the sun. From snorkeling to strolling through the lush gardens, it’s a wonderful spot for making special memories with your little sailor!
Now, when it comes to bringing a car seat for your daughter, this is where things get a bit uncharted. Since all
Disney Port Adventures are operated by independent contractors, the transportation vehicles used for excursions are not owned or run by Disney. That means the decision to allow a car seat on board will ultimately be up to the driver. In my experience, most of the buses or vans used for excursions in Cozumel don’t have the necessary seat belts to secure a car seat properly. Because of this, many families opt to have their little ones sit on their lap during the short (about 20-minute) ride to the park.
As for leaving the car seat in the vehicle while you enjoy the park, that’s unlikely to be an option. Most transportation providers return to the port after drop-off to pick up other guests from various excursions and cruise lines, so there’s no guarantee the same vehicle will be waiting for you when it’s time to head back. If you’d prefer to have a car seat-friendly ride, you could consider booking private transportation separately, but that would mean skipping the convenience of the Disney-arranged excursion.
If you run into any issues booking Chankanaab or just want to explore other options, my crew and I loved the
Isla Pasión excursion. It’s a peaceful, picturesque beach escape with soft white sand, hammocks swaying in the breeze, and even kayaks if you’re feeling adventurous. Plus, lunch and a selection of adult beverages are included—because even Captains deserve to kick back and relax!
I hope you and your little adventurer have a practically perfect day in Cozumel, filled with sunshine, sandy toes, and unforgettable memories. If you have any more questions as you get ready to set sail, just keep swimming back to planDisney—we’re always happy to help!
Sea ya real soon with luck in the air and magic everywhere,
Dustin
