I am traveling with a 3 year old autistic child. Is there any special accommodations that I am unaware of to make his trip more enjoyable?

    Hello Cassandra!

As a mom of a son with special needs, we have found that the Walt Disney World Resort is a great place to visit for guests with special needs, including those with Cognitive Disabilities. With a little planning, I have found we can focus on the magic of being together and take in all that Disney has to offer.

First, read this amazing resource that Disney put together for families. A Resource for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is full of planning strategies, transportation information, detailed attraction information and so much more.

Second, utilize the FastPass+ Service.  Once you have linked your theme park tickets in your My Disney Experience account, you can begin booking your three FastPass+ selections between 30-60 days prior to your vacation.

Third, if you feel that your little one needs more accommodations, you can request a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card.  Just visit the Guest Relations Lobby at any theme park to speak with a Cast Member, who will assist you in the specific accommodations that your little one may need.

Finally, you know your little one. Consider bringing noise canceling headphones, a favorite toy or snacks to help alleviate any anxiety while in the parks.  Let me know if you have further questions.

    Have a magical day!
