Hi! We will be traveling with our 2 year old (almost 3) daughter in January on the Disney Wonder. How much time should we plan on wanting to use the Nursery vs. having her with us on the ship? Not sure how much childcare to reserve in advance!

    Ahoy Danielle –

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Some of my favorite adventures have been on the Disney Wonder with my pirate kids, and I know that you will have a blast with your pirate fairy princess. I have sailed many times with my infant and later toddler son, and I could not have done it without the Nursery! How much time to use the Nursery really depends on the temperament of your tiger cub. For instance, my little pirate prince absolutely HATED any time wasted for a nice sit down table meal, so we put him in the Nursery every night after an expedited table service dinner (I later returned to finish the meal with my family peacefully and with no tantrums). He was very happy to play with the Youth Counselors and visit with the characters there, and he preferred to stay in the Nursery all evening. For him, we used every bit of Nursery reservations and then some extra. Remember that you can always cancel any unneeded Nursery reservations without penalty if done ahead of time. I have seen other preschoolers with calmer dispositions sit nicely with their parents for meals and even the Broadway style shows. Make sure to set aside time for adult dinners at Palo and relaxation at the Spa. Do not forget that during the day there will be plenty of other things to do with your sea pup. Danielle, have fun planning your WONDERful vacation adventure with Disney Cruise Line, and thanks for stopping by.
