Jambo (Greetings), Donna!
There’s nothing like taking a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort with your family. The magic feels all too real as you are immersed in the stories being told throughout each Theme Park and Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
The first thing I’d recommend for your Mouseketeer is the
Disability Access Service (DAS) which helps Guests who may be unable to wait in a traditional queue. Head over to
Guest Relations, located in every Theme Park when you first enter with your entire party; they can provide your son with a disability pass by setting up the service. The way it works is a Cast Member at your attraction of choice will provide you a return time for that attraction. My family has used the Disability Access Service before, and I cannot begin to explain how wonderful I think is. You may also find the
Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities helpful.
I am wild about
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park! We are huge fans of
Kilimanjaro Safaris and love exploring
Pandora - The World of Avatar! A really great way to tackle this and any other Theme Park would be to go in as early as Park opening. Another tip that helped my kiddo prepare during his first trip to Walt Disney World Resort was watching videos of some of the attractions so he knew what to expect. A simple Internet search will bring up lots of options. My pal and fellow panelist, Jackie P.
reminded me she brings along Post-it notes to place on toilet sensors to prevent auto-flushing! Relaxing as you have a meal is wonderful and I adore
Satu’li Canteen at Pandora. Be sure to download
My Disney Experience Mobile app so you can place your order ahead of time with
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering!
Check out
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village as an option for your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. It is the closest to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and I love that Kidani Village borders the savanna and many of the rooms have spectacular savanna views!
Here is a
Know Before You Go guide to help you with all of the latest updates! Also, to limit capacity in each Theme Park, Disney has introduced the new
Disney Park Pass system! If you haven't already, be sure to make your Disney Park Pass reservations, along with your tickets, so you’re able to enjoy the magical Theme Parks of your choice!
Donna, I hope you and your son have the most enchanting vacation!
