Ahoy and welcome to planDisney, Sondrae! The
Western Caribbean itinerary on the Disney Fantasy has so many fabulous destinations, I am sure you are getting excited planning all the fun to come.
As you are on a cruise leaving from and returning to the same port, the typical proof of citizenship can be provided either with a passport -or- with a birth certificate for children 15 and younger and a birth certificate and government-issued photo identification for passengers 16 and older. I will caution, though, these guidelines are set by the US State Department, so it is always best to check the
proof of citizenship requirements for smooth sailing.
Although passports are not typically required for these cruises, if you have an option to travel with them, I highly recommend it. It is just an extra it of security in the event of any incident that could interrupt your cruise. For me, it is just one less thing to worry about were anything to happen.
We always do a visual check to ensure we have these documents in hand as we leave our house for our trip. They are one thing you cannot pick up in a store or board without if forgotten. As you need these to board the ship, make sure they are in your carry-on and not checked luggage.
Please come back to
planDisney with any other questions as you prepare for your cruise. We are here to help!
Happy Cruising,
Jana
