We'll be traveling the week before Easter. My question is that in past experiences guests in Disney resorts can get in the parks early regardless of the EMH? Is this true? For example: AK Park on 4/6/20 opens at 8:00am. Will it open for guests at 7:00?

Hi there, James, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you so much for bringing us your question regarding your upcoming stay at a Walt Disney World resort.

Guests staying at Disney Resorts and a few additional participating hotels can spend extra time in one of the theme parks each day, either before it opens or after it closes using Extra Magic Hours. Otherwise the parks do try to stay on schedule with the normal operating hours. However, it never hurts to be at the gates a little early. This way you’ll be able to enjoy select attractions and experiences as soon as the park opens… and speaking of attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom I would highly recommend Avatar Flight of Passage located in Pandora – The World of Avatar.

Please keep in mind that Extra Magic Hours do rotate throughout the week to all four theme parks, so you’ll want to crosscheck your April vacation dates on Disney’s calendar where they conveniently list both normal park hours and Extra Magic Hours.

If you have any other questions, please let us know. Have a magical day!
