Traveling to WDW w/ my 14 yr old son for the first time week of Feb. 21st. Besides for the obvious, does anyone have any suggestions re: really spectacular sights/events to see or do while we're there and how to best "plan" our days?'

Hi Dorothea, How exciting to be bringing your son to Disney for his first time. To be sure I gave you all of the "cool ideas", I sought the input of my 15 year old son. From my boy to yours, here are his, "Can't Miss" recommendations:

    1) Hit the best rides. Be sure to go on all of the following attractions (listed by Park).
Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain.
Hollywood  Studios: Rock 'n Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror.
    Epcot: Test Track, Mission: Space
Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids.

    2) Don't miss these shows:
Hollywood Studios: Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! and Fantasmic!
    Magic Kingdom: Wishes
    Epcot: IllumiNations

    3) Have fun outside the Parks:
Head to Downtown Disney's DisneyQuest. Be sure to give him plenty of time to enjoy this "epic" place.
Rent Sea Raycers. Your son is old enough to drive his own. I did this with my boys on our last trip and they loved it!

Since Fantasmic is not always offered every night, be sure to check the calendar. You'll want to choose a day that it is offered as your Hollywood Studios night. To minimize the wait, see if you can reserve a Fantasmic Dining Package by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

Have a wonderful time with your son and let me know if I can help you further,
