We are traveling to WDW & wondering if there are any fun things to do with the kids that are free - for example, I heard there is a nightly campfire with Chip and Dale (no reservations / fee required). Are there any other activities like this?

    Hi Jana:

Aside from the Fort Wilderness Campfire Sing-along, if you are a Disney Resort Guest, you can also enjoy free movies-under-the-stars at a number of Disney resorts. Although subject to change, some of the Resorts showing movies-under-the-stars include the All-Stars Resorts, Yacht & Beach Club, the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge and Saratoga Springs.

Another free activity for the kids is riding the monorail around the Parks.  Some of my most vivid memories of Walt Disney World as a kid were monorail rides.  I would also consider taking your kids to Downtown Disney. While one can spend money at the  wonderful shops and restaurants at Downtown Disney, it's a festive environment and pleasant stroll, and you may be able to get away with just just a simple treat or ice cream.

    Enjoy your vacation.
