    Hi Erin,

The cast members at the height measuring stations are usually quite strict. Their job is to ensure that all guests are safe on the attractions, and they take that job seriously. I've had cast members ask my daughters to remove hats or high ponytails so that they could get a more accurate measurement. You should also know that children are actually measured twice at rides with height requirements, once at the ride entrance and once just before boarding the attraction itself.

For a very detailed discussion of this topic, you may want to head over to the independent website blog.touringplans.com and search there for an article called "The Ups and Downs of Height Requirements at Walt Disney World." The comments include lots of discussion on how to cope with a child that is just barely tall enough for an attraction.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
