Hi Marissa,
My family has spent Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World two of the past four years, and we have had fabulous holiday meals. The good news is that many of the table service restaurants in the theme parks and resorts offer a special turkey meal for the holiday. So do a number of the quick service venues. The not-so-good news is that, this close to November 24, reservations are quite limited.
The list of restaurants with holiday meals is often posted on the
Disney Parks Blog near the holiday. Meanwhile, I found a list of restaurants with Thanksgiving-themed meals in 2015 on the unofficial site allears.net. You can find it on that site by searching "Thanksgiving".
I suggest you go to the
advanced dining reservations section of the Walt Disney World website to see what restaurants have availability. You can compare that to the list of restaurants that have participated in the past. You should know that many do not take walk-ins on Thanksgiving because they are fully booked.
I know you said your father doesn't want a buffet, but one of our best Thanksgiving meals at Walt Disney World was at
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is a buffet but had turkey and all the trimmings in addition to the regular fare. If it is available, I recommend it.
If you can't find a reservation, I can tell you that the Thanksgiving special at the quick serve
Sunshine Seasons in Epcot looked delicious.
Thanks for dropping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let us know if we can help again as you make your last-minute plans. Enjoy!
