Hi! I will be traveling to WDW with someone who has extreme food sensitivities. Will she be allowed to bring her own food (fully prepared and not requiring heating) into restaurants where the rest of us will be eating? Thanks!

Hi Laurie! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question.  Traveling with someone who has extreme food sensitivities requires a bit of extra planning, but Walt Disney World is truly one of the best places to handle it!

This can be a bit of a tricky situation depending on where you're dining. If your group is planning to eat at a prix fixe or all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant, those experiences are charged per person, so everyone in the party would still be required to pay, even if someone isn't planning to eat. That's just how those particular dining formats are structured.

As for bringing outside food into a Table Service restaurant, it's not something that's officially guaranteed. It can vary depending on the location and the Cast Members at the entrance at that moment. In many cases, outside food is discouraged. If this is something you're hoping to do, I would absolutely call the Walt Disney World help center. It never hurts to explain your situation and see what they can allow.

That said, my biggest recommendation is to reach out to Disney's Special Diets team before your trip. You can email them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com and share every detail about your friend's sensitivities. They are incredible at working with Guests who have complex dietary needs, and they can guide you toward the safest dining options or even coordinate with chefs in advance. It really makes a huge difference to have that conversation before you arrive.

Laurie, you're doing exactly the right thing by preparing ahead of time. With a little communication and planning, your group can still enjoy meals together in a way that feels safe and comfortable for everyone.

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
