I will be traveling to WDW in September 2017 with my husband, 2 daughters and my parents. My mother will be in need of renting an EVC at each of the parks we go to. How hard with this be for her, since we are not able to reserve them ahead of time?

    Hello, Karen!

Your mom can find Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECV) Rentals in each theme park and at Disney Springs. It is correct that these units are rented on a first come, first-served basis; however, since you are not planning to visit during a busy holiday like Christmas, she should be able to rent a unit without too much worry. I would arrive early in the day to make sure to secure a unit just in case! If your family decides to hop to another park, keep the receipt to obtain another ECV at the second theme park at no additional charge.

Another option is for your mom to rent an ECV from an outside provider. Many of the Disney featured providers (listed on the ECV Rental page) offer reasonable pricing and deliver the unit right to Walt Disney World Resort hotels. This option gives your family a little more freedom as your mom can take the ECV everywhere, including Walt Disney World Complimentary Resort Transportation. Those units rented inside the theme parks and Disney Springs must remain in the area where rented.

I hope this helps with your planning! Please visit us again should you have additional questions, Karen!

    Have a magical day!
