We will be traveling to WDW on 3/30-4/6 and have purchased the dining package. They suggest making reservations but is this necessary----it is hard to plan a dinner time, etc. so far in advance. How do you know what characters will be at which location?

    Hi Heather --

Most of the time, I can't figure out what I want to have for dinner tonight, so planning dinners months ahead of time can seem impossible.  However, I think you definitely want to make some dining reservations as soon as possible.  A lot of the more popular restaurants fill up quickly, especially those that feature characters.  You can always cancel your reservations if you find other options.

You can find information regarding the characters found at each restaurant by clicking HERE.  For traditional characters, I recommend Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, Garden Grill in Epcot, or Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House.  If your family likes Winnie the Pooh, Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is a great option.  Cinderella's Royal Table is popular for princess lovers, but it fills up quickly.  Akershus in Norway at Epcot offers a comparable alternative.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
