Hi! Traveling to WDW in October with my two teen girls - staying at Little Mermaid Resort. One daughter would like to play tennis - the other would like to try animation (we've done Animation attraction at Disney Hollywood Studio). Advice? Ideas? Thanks!

    Hi Heidi,

As a teacher and field trip coordinator, I've traveled to Walt Disney World with teens on more than one occasion.  There's so much for older children to enjoy at the most magical place on earth!

Although Disney's Art of Animation Resort does not have its own tennis courts, guests are welcome to schedule either group or individual tennis lessons at six other Disney resorts by calling 321-228-1146.   I bet your daughter would love this experience!

For the daughter who wishes to explore animation, consider taking her to DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney.  They offer short animation lessons throughout the day.  My son and I enjoyed this experience during our last visit to Downtown Disney.  While there is no charge for the animation lessons, a separate admission fee for DisneyQuest is required to take part in this experience.  An even better option would be to sign your daughter up for Disney's Animation Magic program offered to children ages 8-18 through the Disney Youth Education Series (YES).  You don't have to be traveling with a school group to sign up for YES programs.  Call (877) WD-YOUTH to see if this program is being offered during the dates of your upcoming trip.  Having taken my own high school students to participate in YES programs, I can recommend them highly.

Check out my recent article on traveling with teens to Walt Disney World at www.orbitz.com/blog if you need any additional suggestions.  When you reach the website, just search "teen Disney travel" and my article will pop up.

    Thanks for a great question!
