We will be traveling to WDW in October with our 4 daughters, 2 of which have juvenile macular degeneration. Their exposure to the sun should be limited. Is there any kind of special pass that can minimize their wait time in the sun?

    Hi Karyn,

Congratulations on your upcoming vacation with your 4 princesses!  As a Physical Therapist, one of the qualities that I most admire most about Walt Disney World is its accessibility and the Services for Guests with Disabilities.  This linked page has many wonderful services outlined and described in detail.

The first service that I recommend checking into for your daughters is the Disability Access Service Card (DAS).  In order to see if the DAS card will work for your situation you will need to take your daughters to Guest Services in any of the theme parks.  There a Cast Member will discuss your daughters' circumstances and explain the features of the DAS.

Another item that you might be interested in are the Audio Descriptive devices available for rent.  The details about these devices are outlined in the above linked page under Services for Guests with Visual Disabilities.

Karyn after you read through this information about services for Guests with disabilties, please write back if you have any further questions about these services or any other vacation planning topic. Have fun planning your Pixie Dusted vacation!

    Blessings,

Meet the Panelist: Brenda, Missouri

I fell in love with Walt Disney World on my very first visit, which took place during my honeymoon. Since then we have added 4 "mouseketeers" to our family and have come to appreciate what a great value a Walt Disney World vacation can be on a budget. As a Physical Therapist and a mom of a large family, I would love to help you plan your next magical trip! Learn More About Brenda
