Hi! We are traveling to WDW in Oct. 2011. I wanted to find out which waterpark you recommend for kids ages 6 & 4? This will be our fourth trip to WDW with the kids but first time going to the waterpark. Want to make sure we make the most of our day the

    Hi Shawn!

October is a fabulous time of year to visit the water parks!  All of the rides at both water parks pretty much mirror each other.  Blizzard Beach, themed like a snow resort and newer of the two, might have some things that your little swimmers might consider “way cool” like the chair lift to the top of Mount Gushmore.  The only way to get down is to choose a body slide, or hop in a big raft and take a family raft ride down Teamboat Springs.

My personal preference is Typhoon Lagoon, themed like a tropical paradise with typhoon type waves in the Surf Pool.  Your kids might find Shark Reef a fun experience where they can actually snorkel with real sharks.

Both parks have a lazy river, big wave pool, body slides, kids area and a family raft ride.  Take a look at the attractions at both parks online and choose which one your family might enjoy the most.  Please note: Blizzard Beach is scheduled to close for refurbishment starting October 30th.
