Hi- I will be traveling to wdw in Nov. with a 7 mo and a 2yo. I am deciding between akl and po riverside. Which hotel do you recommend with two young children? Convience is my first priority. Thank you!

    Hi Laura,

I think if I were traveling with little ones, I'd prefer the pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge because of the zero-entry; it makes it so easy for toddlers to be in the pool. There is also a children's wading area.  What else makes this a nice option is that the pool is adjacent to the lobby, making it an easy walk.  In fact, i'd request that you have a room located close to the pool.

At Port Orleans Riverside, the resort is quite large (2048 rooms compared to 972 buildings at Animal Kingdom Lodge) so you can have a lengthy walk to get to the main pool that has the kiddie pool (that is up to 36" deep) as well as a wading pool.  There are 5 additional pools, so you do have many options if you'd prefer that. I'm not sure if this matters to you, but there are more bus stops at Port Orleans Riverside.

I hope this helps to sort out the details about each resort.  Please let us know if we can help again.

    Wishing you magical memories!
