Traveling to WDW in May staying at ASM. . How are the crowds/ temps? How long does Akershus breakfast last? My sister & I are thinking about taking our 4 yr olds to Sandcastle club. Can we schedule a massage at BCR if we aren't staying there?

    Hi Katy,

May is one of my favorite times of year to visit Walt Disney World.  The crowds aren't too crazy yet, and the weather isn't excruciatingly hot like it can get mid-summer.  Rain showers are typical though, so you'll want to make sure you pack your rain ponchos, just in case.

My experience with character dining is that your meal typically lasts a little over an hour.  It takes about that long for you to see all of the characters.  I find that from the time you arrive at the restaurant until you walk out is about 90 minutes in total.  This is, of course, based only on my personal experience.

The Sandcastle Club is open at 5 p.m. and you can schedule a massage at Ship Shape Health Club.  Massages are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m by appointment only.  I recommend making any necessary appointments early as they fill up quickly.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
