I will be traveling to WDW the last week of August and would like to know how the crowds and weather are? And do I need to make reservations, I know a reservation is guaranteed but I hate living by a schedule.

Erin, we've visited during the end of August/ beginning of September for the past two years. The parks were busier than I expected, most likely due to the free dining special that was offered. That said, we never had to wait in more than 45 minutes for a ride, and even less when we used Fast Passes.

If free dining is happening again this year, then I definitely recommend making dining reservations, as the restaurants fill up quickly. If you don't want to book for every day, I would at least book your must dos so you are not disappointed. Reservations can be made 90 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463).

The average weather for Orlando in August is a high of 91.5 degrees, and the average low is 73.4 degrees. It is hurricane season, so don't be surprised if you get some stormy weather. We bring disposable rain ponchos with us wherever we go just in case!
