We traveling to WDW in June. We have 3 kids, aged 7,4,&1. I'm concerned about rides as a family of 5. Will I be able to ride holding the 1 year old so that no one rides alone? Or will we likely need to split into groups (2/2/1) for most rides?

    Hi Eric,

You are going to have such an amazing time with your family! I'm so excited for you and your upcoming vacation! You'll find the Walt Disney World Resort to be an amazing vacation destination for families of preschoolers and young children.

I'm happy to let you know that you should be able to fit on all of the rides just fine without needing to have someone ride by themselves. Most attractions that do not have a height restriction utilize a bench type seat rather than individual seats so that families of all shapes and sizes will fit comfortably. As a mom of five children who has been bringing little ones to the Walt Disney World Resort for many years, I've enjoyed lots of rides with a baby or toddler on my lap and another child or two beside me. In fact, one of my very favorite things about a Disney vacation is that my entire family is able to enjoy so many experiences together.

Since you have a little one, I'm wondering if you are familiar with Rider Switch? If there is an attraction that some of you want to experience, but not everyone in your family is quite ready for, Rider Switch is a great service that will allow most of your party to enjoy an attraction while one of you waits with any members of your family who aren't riding. Just make sure you talk to a Cast Member before they enter the queue to grab a Rider Switch Pass. Then, once they've finished, the adult who waited outside the attraction and one other Guest may experience it by entering the FastPass+ queue and skipping the standby line!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Eric, and have a truly magical vacation with your family!
