I will be traveling to WDW in June with my entire family. My father is a veteran and I remember that veterans were used to retire the flag at the MK. How do I get info on this?

The Flag Retreat Ceremony takes place at approximately 5 p.m. each day in the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Town Square.

You may inquire at nearby City Hall about your family member assisting in the lowering of the flag.

If you would like to make arrangements prior to your visit, you may call 407-WDW-DISNEY and ask to be connected with the Magic Kingdom’s City Hall. There is a reservation book in City Hall, although not all Cast Members seem to be aware of this ceremony. Be persistent.

The ceremony is approximately 20 minutes and is led by the Security Color Guard. The Main Street Philharmonic adds a touching musical rendition which brought me to tears last time I saw it!
