Traveling to WDW July 5-13, from Detroit, MI with a family of 6 36,24,19.15,15, 3. Lodging was provide. Renting a car and driving to Florida. I need help in determining how much would need for spending money? Will be shopping at Walmart to save on food.

Hi Lawanda!  Sounds like a big trip coming up for your family.

Figuring out how much money to bring is always a tough decision. I am assuming you will need park tickets as you did not mention those. Your best savings will be to purchase for each family member a ticket covering the length of stay or the number of days you will be in the parks during your vacation. (I generally don't suggest you worry about parks on arrival and departure days since traveling is stressful).

Do not add the Park Hopper option as this will really crank the price up. With careful planning you can certainly enjoy one park a day.

If you stick to the quick service restaurants in the parks you can each eat for under $15 per meal. Add a little for sweet treats later or snacks such as popcorn and drinks. During the heat of the summer I don't suggest you bring your own food for the day due to easy spoilage.

For spending money I suggest you purchase Disney gift cards for each of the children. This will allow them to know before they go how much they can spend. The cards are good anywhere on property for food and merchandise.  There are great things to buy so they have to be good shoppers. This is the best way to hold down on expenses too.
