Hi, Christine! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
I'm sorry to hear about your ankle injury, but I'm glad that you're not letting it get in the way of your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. You can rest assured that the Walt Disney World theme parks,
resort hotels, and
transportation options are all accessible to
Guests with mobility needs. Since visiting Walt Disney World Resort can involve quite a bit of walking and time spent on your feet, I think
renting an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV), also known as a scooter, is a good idea.
Guests may rent ECVs or
wheelchairs at all of the Walt Disney World theme parks,
water parks, and
Disney Springs. Rental ECVs and wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations for ECV and wheelchair rentals are not accepted and quantities are limited, so I would recommend arriving early.
If you're able to transport your own ECV or wheelchair, you're welcome to bring that rather than renting one at the parks. Some third-party rental companies are able to deliver an ECV or wheelchair to wherever you're staying for you to use throughout your vacation. You could do a quick internet search for rental companies, or you could contact ScooterBug, the Disney Featured Provider. You'll find ScooterBug's contact information on the ECV rental webpage linked above.
Christine, I hope this information is helpful as you get ready to visit Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. My fellow planDisney panelists and I are all ears! See ya real soon!
Samantha
