We r traveling to WDW for the first time in Oct. Can u give me any tips on discounts? We are on a tight budget. My husband is a veteran, is there any discounts for that? Is there a more "adult friendly" place to stay?

    Hi Buffy,

Thanks so much for your question. As a Sergeant in the Air Force, please tell your husband I said "thank you for your service!" Beside being in the military, I'm also a budget-concious Walt Disney World fanatic, so I'd love to give you a few tips on how to save when your come for your visit in October.

We are so fortunate to have Walt Disney World offer military discounts for current military members, veterans and their families. You will be able to get a military discount on select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Call (407) 939-7830 to check availability and book your room. Once you are given the selections available for the military discount, you will be able to see which Resorts will be better suited for just you and your husband. We personally love Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter, when it's just my husband and me. Military members and veterans also have the option of staying at Shades of Green Resort, which is located on Disney property. While it is not an official Walt Disney World Resort, it does offer discounted rooms for military members and their families. The rooms are really nice and it's a beautiful resort.

When it comes to military discounts for park admission, Walt Disney World also offers this option to military members and veterans. The Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets are available for purchase on military installations and at the Shades of Green Resort. Whether you go with a base ticket or a park hopper, you'll yield a great discount on your tickets.

I hope this answered your questions, Buffy. If you have any more questions before your October trip, please feel free to ask at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
