We are traveling to WDW in February with our 5 year old daughter. Is there anything you recommend to do in the Epcot World Showcase? What are the Kidcot stops?

The Kidcot stops are mostly free hands-on arts and crafts.  My husband couldn't understand why we would stop and color in the middle of WDW, but as you may know, kids sometimes need a break from all the goings on of  WDW.  Focusing on coloring for five minutes almost re-centers her so that she can go on with the rest of the day.

The World Showcase also has an area where kids can beat on drums and watch all sorts of different live shows.  In each country of Epcot you can usually find native speakers.  The castmembers will have flags on their nametags indicating which languages they speak.  It may be a fun activity to teach your daughter how to say hello or thank you in another language and then have her use it when you enter that country.

If she likes princesses try reserving a meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion.  We have enjoyed the food and its the only place to see Belle in her formal yellow ballgown.  Many of the other Disney princesses visit your table while you eat.

I hope you daughter enjoys her trip to WDW.

Meet the Panelist: Michelle, New Jersey

I have been fortunate enough to be on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel since 2008.  As a Disney World enthusiast, I can’t imagine a greater opportunity.  My husband, our 6-year-old daughter, and I visit WDW a few times a year.
