We are traveling to WDW in Feb and were able to take advantage of the free dining plan. We are staying at Coronado Springs and noticed that none of the restaurants are listed in the dining plan brochure. Are we going to need to travel offsite for meals?

    Hi, Ariel!

First, congratulations on booking your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World, and a free Disney Dining Plan to boot! Woo hoo!

Not to worry about the restaurants, though, Ariel. Because specific agreements are still being worked out with dozens of restaurants, that 2013 Disney Dining Plan PDF you're looking at is truly a work in progress. In fact, when all of the Table-Service restaurants at Downtown Disney agreed to accept the Dining Plan in 2012, I recall reading a similarly incomplete document for several weeks into the new year.

I recommend that Guests take a look at the previous year's Disney Dining Plan PDF for a closer idea of which restaurants may be participating in the plan. Of course, there may be differences, but it may also be a more accurate picture of what your choices will be once all of these agreements are finalized closer to the end of the year.

Similarly, if I'm heading to WDW early in the year, I go ahead and book my dining reservations based on the previous year's Dining Plan-participating locations. IF those restaurants end up accepting the plan, I've got our reservations secured; if not, I can always find a different venue at a later date. In addition, when in doubt, I call the restaurant directly to determine if they will be participating in the Dining Plan. Occasionally, items are left off of the PDF, which are later added, so a call to either Disney Dining at (407) WDW-DINE or to the restaurant directly can sometimes clarify a lot.

Have a wonderful trip, Ariel! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them; I love to help!
