I am traveling to WDW with another family (5 traveling) and possibly another family (8 traveling). I would like to make dining reservations for 8 of us at 180 days out, but if the third family does not go can I change the reservation from 8 to 5?

    Hi Linda,

It's always easier to reduce the number of guests on an advanced dining reservation than to increase your party size, especially at the most popular Walt Disney World restaurants. So, yes, I would recommend that you go ahead and make your reservations for a party of 8 if there is a possibility you will have that many people.

If your other friends can't make it, you can modify the reservation in your My Disney Experience account. Simply go to the Reservations & Tickets section and click "Change Reservation" if you are on the desktop version or "Modify Reservation" if you are using the mobile app. You will be able to look for new times or increase or reduce the number of guests easily there.

If you find you can't keep any of your reservations, please be sure you cancel them at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any no-show charges.

Thanks for dropping in at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Linda. We're happy to help with any other planning questions you think of as you get ready for magical vacation. Enjoy!
