Traveling to WDW end of Jan alone with a 10 yr old. He begins getting heat stroke at 72 degrees and cannot cool himself. (It's Totally Life threatening.) How much cement/distance do we need to cross from the lobby to the buses at CBR w/ a preferred room?

Hi Lara!  Although your vacation is only days away I hope you will take the time to discuss your plans with your child's physician so that he/she can advise you on the precautions you will need to take for the health of your child.

There is an abundant amount of cement all throughout Walt Disney World. Whether it is at a resort or in a park there are many walkways and roads everywhere. Disney has done a great deal to plant many trees and other structures to offer shade but the Florida sun is intense.  Temperatures in January can vary and can average 80 degrees or 65 degrees but when the sun is out it will always feel warmer then it is.

The Caribbean Beach resort has many buildings and it uses an internal bus system. Guests have to wait at a resort stop before they head to the parks. Even with a preferred room your walk will take you across "cement".  Please also understand that although the buses will have air conditioning they can get stuffy and warm when they are crowded.
