We are traveling to WDW during the Christmas season this year with our son who will be 1 1/2 at the time. I'm wondering if the Candlelight Processional in Epcot would be an appropriate activity for him? Thanks!

Hi Caitlin! Celebrating the holiday season is very magical when you can do it at Walt Disney World. I find that I must be there at least for a few days every year sometime in December so I can experience this magic.

The Candlelight Processional is one of the most beautiful holiday events at Disney. It is the story of Christmas done through narration and music that includes a full orchestra, trumpets, high school choirs, the Disney choir, and the magnificent Voices of Liberty. Children are all different so it is hard to say if this would be something good for your young son to experience. The show will last about 40-45 minutes. We tried to take our 8 month old granddaughter to it this past year and she loved all the music. Toward the end we needed to take her to the back as she wanted to talk when they weren't playing music and I didn't want to ruin the experience for the guests around me. My suggestion would be to try it if you feel your son would enjoy the music and find a seat towards the back or on an aisle in case you had to leave at some point.

One way to guarantee a seat is the highly recommended Candlelight Dining Packages. You can choose a location  and a meal time which will assure you to a seat at one of the shows that day.  Since you have a young son I would recommend breakfast or lunch so you have a seat for the earliest show.
