We are traveling to Walt Disney World in November. It will be my husband and I along with our 11 children. Two members of our party have disabilities. Do they each need their own DAS card or do we only need one for our family.

Hello there Mommatomany (I love your moniker!),

A big congratulations is in order for your upcoming grand vacation! As a Physical Therapist I have recommended the Walt Disney World Resort countless times as my top vacation destination for people with disabilities. I believe it is the most accessible and accommodating vacation destination that there is. Combine that with a little Pixie Dust and you are in for the most MAGICAL vacation of your life!

If both of your children need Disability Access Service (DAS) cards then they will be issued one each. DAS cards are available for Guests who are unable to wait in a conventional queue due to a disability, including disabilities which are not apparent. A Cast Member at Guest Relations (at any of the theme parks) will discuss your children's needs and determine how to best accommodate your family. If your children's disabilities are based solely on the need to use a wheelchair, a DAS card will not be necessary for them. Instead depending upon the attraction your children will either use the standard queue, an alternate entrance, or receive a return time based on the current wait time. However if your children are unable to use the conventional queue for other reasons, sensory issues for example, then a DAS card will be issued for them. It is important to be specific about your children's needs when you visit with the Cast Member so that they may work individually with you to provide assistance.

When you go to Guest Relations to discuss your children's needs and to see if a DAS card is right for them, be sure to allow extra time and do not have early Advanced Dining Reservations or FastPass+ selections so that you do not feel rushed.

Thank you for your question and please let us know if we can help further with your vacation planning!
