Hi All, I am traveling to Walt Disney World in mid-September. Any suggestions about traveling with a large group (15) and different aged children? I already made our dinner reservations but are concerned about the attractions. Thank you so much.

    Hi, Stef!

I think you are off to a great start.  Having a dinner reservation is a perfect way to gather your group after a day of magic!  (Just remember that with a group your size, you may be seated at two tables.)

My best advice is to give a schedule out to your group.  I suggest letting everyone do their own thing then plan to meet for dinner.  You are going to have kids up and ready to roll early in the morning, teens who want to sleep until noon, and families who want to take time to swim at the pool.  It really would be futile to try to keep 15 people happy. If you try to stay together, you will spend way too much time saying "what does everyone want to do?"

On the schedule, list your dinner reservation locations and times, asking everyone to gather 15 minutes prior to the seating time.  If you are dining in a theme park, plan for one or two attractions to do as a group after dinner.  Make these easy like it's a small world in Magic Kingdom or The Great Movie Ride in Hollywood Studios.  If you try to get everyone on Space Mountain, you will have some who are too short, too young, too old - you get the idea!

Remember that this is a vacation for each and every person in your group so keep it simple so you do not have too much work for any single person.  Rallying a troop of 15 is quite a task, so the smaller the expectation, the better.   Just make sure to plan for some group photos of everyone together.  What a magical memory!  Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
