Hi Alyssa,
It is tempting to shed clothing when the weather gets hot. Isn't it? However, guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort have to adhere to a specific
Dress Code. It would be extremely inconvenient to arrive at the gate and be refused admittance to the theme park, simply because your attire is considered inappropriate.
Please keep in mind that the theme parks are a family-oriented environment, so what you wear should reflect that too. One of the dress code rules clearly states that "clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment," would
not be permitted. Therefore, I would
not recommend wearing cropped tops exposing your midriff.
I suggest dressing comfortably. It is absolutely imperative to wear good walking shoes. Shorts and t-shirts are perfectly acceptable attire, and just great for the warmer summer months. However, I would also bring a lightweight jacket in case the weather turns cool (unlikely in June). Casual sundresses are very appropriate too. Check the local weather report before leaving for the parks each day.
Disney Mom Tip: Do pack one pair of strappy sandals, a dress, a nice skirt or a pair of Capri pants to go with a dressier shirt. If you visit one of the fabulous
Disney Fine/Signature Dining locations, you will need to adhere to a specific dress code there as well. There are also numerous bars and lounges throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, and you just might want to dress up a bit for those too.
Wishing you a most
unforgettable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
