We are traveling to Walt Disney World in February with our 2.5 year old daughter. She doesn't turn 3 until June however she is very tall for her age (about 38 inches). Do I need to bring her birth certificate with me to prove that she is under 3?

    Hi Ashley,

I bet you are so excited for your upcoming vacation, it's just around the corner!  As a mother of four children who have all been well above average height, I have had no issues entering the theme parks with my very tall two year olds.  On past occasions when the Cast Members at the entrances have asked if I had a ticket for my child, I simply told them that my child was two years old and we were admitted without any further questioning.

I do have one piece of advice though, do not teach your child to say "I am three" before their birthday.  One time several weeks before my daughter's birthday I taught her how to hold up three fingers and tell us how old she was going to be.  Although I was very pleased at my bright child, when we visited Walt Disney World just before she turned three she couldn't wait to tell the Cast Member "I am three!" when they asked me how old she was.  I explained to the Cast Member that her birthday was very soon but she was still two years old.  Other than my royal embarrassment, there still weren't any problems.  From that time onward I have taught my children to recite their birth date when asked.

Have a magical vacation Ashley!  Please let us know if you have any further vacation planning questions.  We are always hEAR to help.

    Blessings,
