Hi Rosemarie,
My daughter is 8 years old, so I have some recent experience with a young girl at Walt Disney World! I can give you some suggestions based on her experiences; however, each child is so different and what your girls will like really depends on their own unique interests. Therefore, I suggest that you order the
free Walt Disney World planning DVD, to see more about Walt Disney World.
At Magic Kingdom, there are many opportunities to visit with princesses, such as meeting them at Princess Fairytale Hall. Also try Enchanted Tales with Belle, which is an interactive retelling of the story of Beauty and the Beast. If your girls have an adventurous side, and depending on their heights, they might enjoy the roller coasters at Magic Kingdom. You can start with the very tame The Barnstormer, and if they like that move up to the more thrilling Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, I think that Toy Story Midway Mania is a must-do attraction for kids of all ages - including grown-up kids! It is a fun, interactive attraction that you get to play through. In my opinion, some of the best attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios are the shows, so try to take in a showing of Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage and the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic!
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, the focus is on the amazing animals. Do not miss Kilimanjaro Safaris, where you will ride on a safari vehicle and have the opportunity to see many animals, such as zebras and giraffes. We also enjoy a trip to Rafiki's Planet Watch. Take a ride on the Wildlife Express Train to get there, and once you are there, you can explore Affection Section, which is a petting yard including rare domesticated breeds, as well as explore Conservation Station.
I hope this helps you to start planning. Please do write back if you have any further questions, Rosemarie!
