We are traveling to Walt Disney World in August 08 with 2 boys 5 & 9 and have purchased the Dining Plan. Our son will be turning 10 while we are there. Are there any special places we can have lunch/dinner for his birthday??

If your son isn’t shy and wouldn’t mind it if a whole restaurant happened  to serenade him with Happy Birthday, then the Whispering Canyon Café at the Wilderness Lodge would be lots of fun. Traveling here could be part of the adventure. Just take resort transportation to the Magic Kingdom and then boat to the Wilderness Lodge.

Another idea would be the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Ft. Wilderness or 50’s Prime Time Café at Hollywood Studios for lots of laughs.

If he has a special interest such as marine life, try the Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot. For a fascination with pyramids and archaeology, dine at San Angel Inn Restaurante.

Whichever restaurant that you choose, you can call ahead about two weeks in advance (and at least 48 hours) to order a personalized cake at an additional fee. Also mention to your Host/Hostess and Server that your son is celebrating a birthday. Many restaurants will deliver a complimentary cupcake. To inquire at a specific restaurant, call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463) and ask to be transferred so you may inquire about cakes. Happy Birthday!
